China National Aviation Fuel Holding Co., the country's sole supplier of jet fuel, delivered 3,200 metric tons of jet kerosene to the earthquake-hit Sichuan province over the weekend to ease the shortage in local airports, the country's top economic planning agency said Monday.
Sichuan's demand for jet kerosene grew sharply after the earthquake last Monday due to an increase in the number of flights to transport rescue material in and wounded people out of the region.
The company transported 1,200 tons of jet kerosene to Mianyang airport and 2,000 tons to Chengdu airport, the National Development and Reform Commission said on its Web site.
The company will deliver another 5,000 tons of jet kerosene in the coming days and an additional 10,000 tons later, if needed, the NDRC said.
It didn't say whether the company will import jet kerosene to meet the demand.
China National Aviation Fuel is the parent company of China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Corp. (G92.SG), which handles jet kerosene imports to China. |
